Primarily known throughout South Jersey as a successful muralist and portrait artist, Nancy Palermo has consistently worked to develop her own artwork. Nancy moved to Ocean City from her native Baltimore, Maryland in 1977 and became enamored with the atmospheric qualities indigenous to coastal waterways. The many moods created by the play of light, sky and water provide Nancy with a point of departure from which to explore her artistic vision. Through her thematic use of shadows and light, Nancy’s work reveals the drama and mystery in everyday life. Nancy holds a BFA from the University of Maryland. Nancy has recently received awards from Women Artists of Atlantic County, The National Arts Program, Hammonton Arts Center, Cygnus Arts Center, New Jersey Society of Artists, and the Ocean City Arts Center. Nancy currently resides in Linwood, New Jersey.
