In the tradition of the Dadaist and Surrealist schools of the early 20th century, Ocean City Arts Center presents an exhibit of the works of contemporary assemblist artists. Art lovers are invited to meet the artists at an opening reception on Friday, February 12th from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The exhibit will run from February 3rd- 28th. In celebration of this inspiring body of work, Ocean City Arts Center will be preparing a unique biography booklet, documenting the stories of the contributing artists; Director Lorraine Hansen explains: “This is our second Repurposed Art Show in three years. The industrious and broad imaginations of the invited artists pulls me into their visual objects both artistically and from a practical gratification of knowing that their techniques and materials formerly were used as something else. When I see the use of these materials—again—I am effected personally with inspiration to apply ideas and disciplines with a more broad approach.”
