DISNEY CAMP - Caroline & Julia Erickson

1st Session: July 9, 9-noon

Come for a week of fun.  Each day students will focus on a different Disney story.  We will do arts and crafts, read our story, sing, dance, play games, use our imaginations and at the end of the week put on a fantastic show with what we have learned.

Students have a chance to move and dance like their favorite pop stars!  Class will involve jazz and hip hop movement with pop dancing!  We will then go over stage movements. There will be a mini show at the end of the camp.  Shoes:  Jazz shoes if available

ANIMALS JR -  Aaron Bogushefsky

Ages 6-9

June 25, 9-noon

In this class led by local artist and teacher “Bogy”, students will learn how to draw animals of all kinds.  They will create underwater scenes with watercolors and oil pastels, paint their favorite animal on canvas, make an animal collage, create 3-D sculptures and practice drawing correct animal forms.  If you love animals and want to get better at drawing them this class is for you!

AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL

Come and celebrate America the Beautiful.  This class will explore a variety of materials.  All students will create fun filled red, white and blue crafts.  Students will produce sculptures, paintings and much more.

This class will focus on drawing from nature.  All students will learn about famous artists and how they interpret the world around us.  They will use materials such as watercolors, tempera paints, pastels and pencil.

BEACH & SURF ART  JR

Led by local surf artist and teacher “Bogy”, students will learn to make beach & surf art.  Inspired by the OC lifestyle, this class will highlight the beach, surf and boardwalk.  Students will create paintings and oil pastel drawings, use clay to build miniature sand castles, cut paper collages and more.  If your kids like the beach and boardwalk this is the perfect camp!

Campers will be exposed to several projects that will focus on the science of art and create projects that blend both experiments and artistic expression.  They will use different artistic techniques and build problem solving skills using the design process to complete projects.  Projects will range from watercolor to sculpture.

Have fun with clay!  We will focus on the hand-building techniques of pinch, coil and slabs while creating unique sculptural and functional works.  We will create pottery inspired by the nature that surrounds our barrier island, including its distinctive shapes, rich colors and textural elements.  Students will bring home a number of handmade summer memories

Who said that Christmas can come only once a year?  Join us for a week of wintery activities in the heat of summer.  You’ll be feeling the Christmas spirit as we make ornaments, snow globes, cards and even sing some Christmas carols.!  These are fun arts and craft projects using clay, paint, glitter, ribbon, bells, candles, stencils and more.  Come join the fun!

Bring your smart phone or iPad or Tablet and learn the art of videography.  Using a variety of apps and some great tutorials and editing techniques you too can create amazing videos for school projects, to highlight events or to share with family and friends.  Various types of video projects and editing shorts/documentaries, interviews and a movie trailer—There’s an app for that!

Campers will learn to illustrate using ipad technology. Focus will be on portraiture, perspective drawing, photography and video editing.  Campers will learn how to use a variety of applications and principals of design.  By the end of the week campers will have a diverse digital portfolio of work.  Tablet or smartphone is required.

This camps is designed for a slightly older group of kids who want to continue their exploration of clay, or try something fun and new! Along with learning about the basic hand-building techniques of pinch, coil, and slab students will also be introduced to throwing on the potter’s wheel.  Inspiration will be derived from nature (beach & surf) and the students personal hobbies and favorite things.  Students will bring home a number of handmade clay items.
