Carla Migliaccio
"Meet the Artist" Reception:
Friday, January 8, 7pm - 8:30pm
Carla is an Ocean City native, O.C.H.S. class of '74, where she was fortunate to have Mr. James N. Pulvino as an art teacher for 6 years. He truly nurtured my passion for art, and the greatest compliment I have received is the "Jim would be proud of you".
Although she has always been interested in art, she was not able to seriously pursue it until her retirement in 2010. She has taken classes with Kim Weiland, Nancy Palermo, Sue Rau, Barbara Rosin and Wanda Kline at the Ocean City Arts Center over the past 10 years. Carla has been exploring various mediums and styles and is enjoying the process of finding her artistic niche.
While the head custodian at the Ocean City Primary School, she painted a number of murals in the school, taking great enjoyment from the requests and criticisms of the young students. The murals lead to her being asked to join the artists involved with The Community Arts Project. Carla painted 8 of our local traffic boxes and worked with many other artists on the water life panels located at 6th street and Bay Avenue. Carla also designed and with the help of many friends painted the mural on the V.F.W. at 15th and Bay Avenue.
