2020 January Exhibition:
Jill served as a trial attorney for thirty years prior to beginning her study of mosaic in 2016. A quick study, Jill’s work was accepted in a gallery six months after beginning the art.
Jill devotes her art solely to mosaics but not in the traditional manner. Jill describes her mosaics as “painting with glass”.
Jill says, “Sometimes art is a hobby, sometimes it is a passion. Sometimes it is an outlet to allow the creative part of your brain to run free and express itself. Each piece of my art is an original artistic creation which is completed with a palette of glass. The art is 'painted’ using hand-cut pieces of glass to create a final work."
Within the short period of time Jill has been working as an artist she has become a resident artist at the Riverfront Residence Center and a member of the Pa Craft Fine Arts Guild. She also serves as a Board Member of the Philadelphia Mosaic Society and a member of SAMA. She also shares her joy and love of mosaics with others in classes and workshops.
