Performing Arts

Fun Dance Fitness

Time passes quickly when you’re having fun and getting fit. This class offers one full hour of “fun, dance & fitness.” Move your body to oldies, pop, show tunes, country, etc. Using light weights, hula hoops, bands, canes & pom-poms. Tai Chi  Relaxation!

Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese art studied to promote relaxation and to encourage meditation. The slow, flowing exercise of the Tai Chi “form” is taught along with several breathing exercises. Portraits from Life  & Photographs

Beginner to advanced drawers welcome. Class will be drawing pastel portraits from life. We will also cover easy ways to utilize drawing from photos, and proper composition for portrait paintings. Initial portraits for beginners will be in black & white or sepia. Advanced portraits will be in full color. Clothed models will be provided when working from life.

Fearless Watercolor

Beginning Knitting

Students will learn to knit, purl, cast-on and bind-off.  Individual instruction with hand outs and visual aids.    All materials will be provided.

This workshop is for beginners who would like to learn the art of macramé. Students will master basic knots and get familiar with various cords and materials. Each student will be able to make a pretty hat hanger which doubles as wall décor.

Want to learn more about drawing with traditional dip pends and modern inking pens?  Students will try a variety of exercises based on gaining mark-making skills with pen, ink, cartridge pens and light watercolor. wash techniques.  Bring a snack

Beginner - Intermediate Pottery

The Ocean City Arts Center has a long tradition of offering classes in pottery and ceramics. We sincerely appreciate the continued interest the community has in our pottery program. We normally offer pottery classes, however those classes are already full with extensive wait lists for each. Adequate space is our biggest challenge. We are working diligently to finds ways to increase our clay and ceramic classes, so stay tuned.
